What we do
Take a look at our “About Us“ pages – they give a good description of who we are.
We meet every week for about 10 weeks during the three school terms – about 30 meeting a year. One member usually researches, presents and leads the discussion on a specific topic of philosophical interest.
Our discussions cover all the philosophical traditions – ancient to modern – and from across the world. We include topical issues as well, and some one-off topics that interest the group even though they are not directly philosophical.
We also have regular guest speakers – normally two per term – who come in to give us their expert views on a wide range of subjects.
Come and join us!
New member are joining us all the time.
Do try us out for a couple of weeks without any commitment or cost – to see if you enjoy it.
And as a member you can use our library of hundred books, and go through more than 300 past presentations.
We are good value. Your modest subscription gives you tea and coffee, a warm room, lovely folk to talk to and learn from, and above all incredible stimulation from like-minded people who want to learn with, and perhaps even from, you!
It is not intimidating, we promise. Give us a go.
