As always, we are offering a number of routes into current debate and exploration of the riches of the philosophical tradition, with a focus always on the current state of play in the discipline.
With our best wishes, from all of us at the LSP.

  1. After Jane’s talk, Peter K commented in the PPG Facebook page:
A terrific talk from Jane O’Grady this morning, taking us from early ideas of the self in the Old Testament and the ancient Greeks, through to Descartes, Schopenhauer and Freud. She emphasised the different ideas contained within the one term, “the self”, including otherness and separation, self-awareness, survival after bodily death, a life force, a moral entity, a will and a complex entity with different structures within it.
